How Do I Know If My Sewage Has Backed Up?

Having backups in your sewage system is alarming, as well as being hazardous because when your sewage backs up, it can cause major damage to your plumbing system.

There are a few warning signs you should be aware of. A foul smell coming from the drains, or any kind of sewage smell which persists, is a clear indication that your main line is clogged.

If the wastewater is unable to move as it should through the toilet or drain, it could cause air bubbles. The sewage will start to back up if this happens regularly since it has no other place to go.

Additional signs could include slow drainage in your sinks, tub and shower, multiple drain clogs occurring at the same time, and even sewage leaking from a cleanout pipe.

These are some signs that your home may be experiencing sewage backup. Please contact (317) 593-9020 if you happen to see any of these signs or if you have any questions.
